Maria SILVANO
Maria Silvano (Venezia 1986) si occupa di fotografia dal 2007 quando, in occasione della sua tesi in Antropologia Culturale svolta in Spagna vive e testimonia il lavoro di una comunità di Gitani impegnati nella valorizzazione e nella salvaguardia della loro cultura originaria. Collabora abitualmente con il laboratorio per le arti e per il pensiero Stazione di Topolò - Postaja Topolove, con il centro culturale dell'Università di Klagenfurt Unikum e con il festival BalkaBarna di Barcellona. A Berlino ha lavorato tra gli altri per il festival Transmediale ed il Disruption Network Lab. Negli ultimi anni ha esposto le sue opere in occasione di mostre personali e collettive a Londra (Royal Anthropological Institute di Londra) Berlino (DADA Post; Raum für Drastische Maßnahme; Rosen Garten; Shaping Clouds, Venezia (Fondamenta 2.0; Venezia Inabottle Gallery; Carichi Sospesi), Firenze (Pitti Bimbo 2013) e Torino (Galleria Innerspace 17 con Franco Fontana). Vive e lavora a Berlino, dove porta avanti la sua ricerca, focalizzata sulla antropologia urbana e visiva.

2016 - Present Frames of Berlin, photo contest, Berlin Art Director, Co-Founder, Managing Director Frames of Berlin is a public contest that aims to discover and support talented new photographers attempting to redefine the boundaries of creative photographic expression.
August 2015 - November 2016 Disruption Network Lab, Berlin Official Photographer Photo documentation of on going platform of events and research focused on art, hacktivism and disruption. The Laboratory takes shape through a series of conference events at Studio 1, Kunstquartier Bethanien in Berlin.

April 2016 - June 2016 Shaping Clouds pop up space, Berlin Art Director, Co-Founder, community manager. Shaping Clouds it’s a pop-up is space in Berlin. It combines the works and visions of 4 artists and friends working with different media. It's an imaginative project, ever-changing and flowing and just like clouds it will eventually mutate, vanish or get more dense, laden with projects: the program pop-up presenting personal and collective exhibitions.

July 2010 - 2015 Stazione di Topolò - Postaja Topolove, Italy Official Photographer Since 2010 I worked as photographer for the annual festival Stazione Topolò / Postaja Topolove, taking place in the small mountain village of Topolò-Topolove on the extreme Italian border with Slovenian. The international festival is a crossroads for unique encounters bringing together a wide variety of musicians and artist from all over the word since 1994.
